Equity informed Mediation
This class will help mediators identify inequities within the mediation dynamics which may be affecting the parties’ ability to communicate and work together. We will address the different ways that mediators can help parties discuss these issues in a curious and safe environment and assist the parties to find a path forward in a collaborative way.
Course Objectives:
• Noticing and skillfully intervening in instances involving inequities
• Helping to expand the lens for people to see beyond their own conscious awareness
• Exploring personal and social identity
• Understanding the Nested Theory of Conflict
• Practicing practical application of skills through role plays
